FAQs:

1. Are the materials used for the trays sustainably sourced? 

All of our wood products are sourced from companies that follow responsible harvesting practices.  Wood is a natural and renewable resource and the species we use are generally fast-growing.  

2. Can I get the tray in different finishes or colors? 

We are happy to work with our customers on any special requests they may have regarding the colour/species of wood they would like used in any of our wood items.  Please email us at helen@ubbh.ca with any custom requests.  With that being said, we do not apply any coloured finishes to our wood products other than food-safe mineral oil and our proprietary conditioning board butter.  

3. Can the large trays be used both indoors and outdoors?  

All of our wood products are designed to be used anywhere that they are not exposed to a direct heat source or water.  They can be used both indoors and outdoors if they are protected from these potentially damaging elements.  

4. Does UBBH offer any custom design services for trays? 

We are always happy to work with our customers on any custom designs they would like.  Simply email us at helen@ubbh.ca to let us know what you are looking for and we will do everything we can to make your dream a reality.

5. How does UBBH handle breakage or damage during shipping? 

Any damage that occurs during shipping must be reported to us within 48 hours of receip7. t with photos and a written description of the damage.  Upon receipt of this information, we will review and take the steps necessary to rectify the situation.  

6. How should I care for and maintain the tray? 

We include a care card with full instructions in every order we fulfill.  To properly care for your trays and boards, simply wash with warm water, mild dish soap and a non-abrasive cloth immediately after use.  Dry with a clean, soft cloth and stand upright to allow the board to air-dry completely (do not leave the board laying on your counter to dry unless it has feet that raise it up, allowing for air flow and proper drying).  Approximately once a month, depending on frequency of use, trays and boards should be wiped down with a food-safe mineral oil and left for a couple of hours until it is absorbed.  Wipe the excess oil from the board.  As needed, apply a conditioning board butter, like Unique Boutique’s Board Butter, to seal the wood and keep it looking its best.

7. Is there a return policy for the trays? 

Any item received that is defective can be returned to us for replacement within 48 hours of receipt.

8. What are the dimensions of the large trays? 

Each of the large trays has a unique shape and the sizes vary.  The website includes a description of each tray, including dimensions for each.  If you need further information please feel free to email helen@ubbh.ca and we will be happy to assist you.  

9. What are the shipping options and costs? 

Our website will automatically calculate and offer our customers multiple options for shipping depending on their needs.  The costs will vary depending on where the customer is located, what products they are purchasing and how quickly they wish to receive their order.

10. What is the price of the large tray? 

Our large trays retail for $175 Canadian.

11. What materials are used for these trays? 

Our trays and boards are made from various species of wood including Canadian Maple, Cherry, Black Walnut, Zebra Wood and Purple Heart.  In addition we use only food-safe glue, food-safe mineral oil and a food-safe conditioning board butter.

12. Where does UBBH source the materials for their trays? 

We source all of our raw materials from lumber supplies who deal only with responsible harvesters.  The maple, cherry and black walnut are all harvested in North America while the zebra wood comes from Central Africa and the purple heart is grown in abundance in Brazil.
